Allie Skidmore

Allie earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and her Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work, with a certificate in Evidence Based Trauma Treatment, from Michigan State University. Allie currently provides emotional health therapy to students ages 14-21 enrolled in Waverly Community Schools. She has worked with Child and Family Charities since 2022, first as a child welfare intern in foster care, then as a clinical intern at Holt High School, and now as a therapist at Waverly High School. Allie is passionate about building trusting therapeutic relationships with her students and using evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy, to support their mental health and personal growth. She is also trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and is working to expand her training in other treatment modalities.
