BECOME A FOSTER PARENT
In most cases, children in foster care first work toward reunification with their family. If that’s not possible, and the court determines adoption is the best path forward, children may become eligible for adoption. Many foster parents also explore adoption once a child becomes eligible for a permanent home.
Children of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences are waiting for permanent homes. While many are older youth and teens, others are part of sibling groups who hope to be adopted together. We believe every child deserves the chance to be part of a loving, permanent family. To learn more about children available for adoption in Michigan, visit www.MARE.org.
Families who adopt from foster care may be eligible for financial and medical assistance to help with the ongoing care of their child. In addition to these supports, adoptive families can access community resources, guidance through local health and human services, and post-adoption services such as support groups, counseling referrals, and case coordination. We’re here to ensure families feel supported every step of the way.
