Local Council

Led by Child and Family Charities, the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Ingham County plays a vital role in protecting children and supporting families throughout the region. As the designated local council, we serve as a central hub for child abuse prevention, bringing together a dedicated network of local organizations and community partners. Our council is instrumental in raising awareness, providing essential education, and delivering prevention services tailored to the unique needs of Ingham County.

In partnership with Children Trust Michigan, we coordinate a comprehensive, community-driven strategy to prevent child abuse. Our efforts focus on empowering families and caregivers with knowledge and resources, offering educational programs, and advocating for safe environments where children can thrive. By aligning local initiatives with the statewide mission of Children Trust Michigan, we ensure a unified, effective approach to child abuse prevention.

Through education, outreach, and collaboration, the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Ingham County strengthens our community’s ability to safeguard its youngest members. Together, we are building a safer, more supportive environment where every child has the opportunity to grow up healthy, safe, and nurtured.

Raising Awareness to Prevent Child Abuse

Public awareness is a critical tool in preventing child abuse. Through community presentations, The Family Growth and Resource Center staff educate the public on the importance of family support and child abuse prevention.

We welcome the opportunity to speak with your organization about:

  • The reality of child abuse in our community
  • Local efforts to prevent and address child abuse
  • How your group can be part of the solution

Our team is experienced in delivering this sensitive but essential message to groups of all sizes, including organizations, task forces, businesses, and community teams.
