For youth between the ages of 18-24 at housing intake
Temporary shared housing in a house or apartment unit with other young adults who are also experiencing housing instability
Meant to be short-term (averaging 6 months) with intensive housing-focused case management to obtain and sustain permanent housing
Requires signing an occupancy agreement, agreeing to follow the house rules and expectations as a condition of residency
Rent expectations: Residents are expected to meet with their case manager a minimum of monthly to review the prior months household income and pay 30% of that income toward household expenses such as (rent, utilities, food, transportation, clothing, prescription co-pays). This helps youth learn how to budget their monthly income and prepare to take over their household expenses when they move into permanent housing. Those funds are retained in a CFC savings account and returned to the youth when they leave the program to assist with start-up costs of permanent housing.
