Sana Sumbal

Bio

Sana Sumbal obtained her Master’s in Social Work from George Mason University and her Bachelor’s in Sociology from Trinity Washington University. She is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society. Sana’s previous social work experience involved providing resources to victims of crimes, attending crime scenes, offering support to bereaved families, and reaching out to clients facing domestic violence. She also has experience in providing services to both youth and adults dealing with mental health issues. Currently, Sana offers solution-focused, trauma-informed services to students using a strengths-based approach. She is trained in TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Sana creates a safe and affirming environment for students experiencing anxiety, depression, and stress to express their emotions and learn coping skills, helping them to build resilience and thrive. Additionally, Sana is multilingual, fluent in Urdu and Punjabi, and provides interpretation services within the community when needed.
